Synopsis:  As practicing Systems Engineers you recognize that retirement financial planning can be one of the most complex systems you will experience.  The North Star Chapter of INCOSE through your input has acknowledged this with a unique experience where we bring in an outside retirement wealth management company to discuss some of the strategies to meet your retirement goals.  Your life is not compartmentalized--so why should your financial life be? Especially considering that the decisions in one area can greatly affect other areas—for better or for worse. Unfortunately, if you are like most people, you are left trying to make sense of the impact that an investment decision may have on your taxes, or which pension option you should choose to maximize your retirement income while still providing for a surviving spouse in the event of your death. And what about social security? When should you take it, how should you take it, and is it going to raise your tax bill?

Craig Bane and Patrick O’Leary will discuss with us strategies to take all aspects of this complex system problem into account:

  • Investment Strategies
    • “Stress Test” your current portfolio
  • Social Security Claiming Strategies
  • Tax Reduction Strategies
    • Reducing investment taxes “RMD”
    • Minimizing taxes on Social Security
  • Estate Planning,
  • Medicare, Medicaid and Long Term Care
  • Risk Management Strategies (It’s not how much you have but how much is yours to keep.
