Abstract
:
This presentation with provide an overview of the challenges, journey and successful evolution of a capability to produce F-35 Lightning II, joint forces and multinational aircraft and manufacture F-35 Wings in Italy.  While the assembly of F-35 jets and the manufacture of the F-35 wings was initially conducted in Ft Worth, the facility built in Italy has, in 4 years, gone from a greenfield to a fully functioning manufacturing and assembly operation that will also be the MRO&U for all European/Mediterranean-based F35s.  We will cover the magnitude of the challenges from the contracting, design and construction of the facilities to the onset of the operations, and the vision for the future.
