About the Tour:
The challenges of designing, developing, and maintaining complex systems are unlike the challenges associated with their complicated but relatively straightforward predecessors. Complex systems and these challenges have captured the interest of many disciplines, including Systems Engineering. Systems within the medical sector have been as much a part of the trend in growing complexity as any, and medical facility designs are evolving to support this growth. On the 15th of September, our chapter will be afforded an exclusive "behind-the-scenes" tour of the recently opened and very complex Orlando Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Lake Nona, Florida.
Accessibility Information:
The tour will not include stairs. Due to time constraints, a brisk walking pace will be necessary to cover the planned area in the time available.

Unofficial Tour:
A VA public affairs officer has volunteered to lead a second tour at the same time, with a little less access than the official tour, for anyone in excess of the 20 person limit. If you find the tour is full you will still have the opportunity to see this wonderful facility or bring friends, colleagues, and/or family members who may not have made a reservation in time.
NOTE: Since the tour is scheduled on the same night as our usual meeting, the regular Orlando Chapter monthly meeting will NOT be held the month of September.
