Deivya Bansal:

Deivya Bansal is currently serving as President. She is a systems engineer with an extensive background in developing medical devices. Deivya has experience in multiple facets of systems engineering, including leadership of technical teams, requirements and architecture definition and decomposition, risk management, and verification and validation. She has worked on Class I, II and III medical products for several organizations like Baxter International, Philips Healthcare and Physio-Control (now a division of Stryker).

Lauren Lundquist:

Lauren Lundquist is currently serving as President-Elect. Lauren is an Associate Technical Fellow with The Boeing Company where he has worked since 2004 in systems engineering, mostly for Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T). As a member of BR&T, Lauren has applied complex systems analysis to both defense and commercial programs. Lauren has been the lead engineer on systems ranging from ground & air combat systems, aerial surveillance platforms, cybersecurity network design to airplane production equipment. Before joining Boeing, Lauren spent twenty years as a design engineer, engineering manager and director of product development for several companies in the Silicon Valley designing projects ranging from military communication jammers, some of the first PCs, 3-D headsets, semiconductor equipment, bicycling products and surgical devices. He has received multiple patents in aerospace manufacturing, process control and medical devices. Lauren is a registered professional engineer in mechanical engineering from the state of California.

 Zhe Li:

Zhe serves as Chapter Secretary. Zhe is a Systems Engineer with Philips Oral Healthcare where he has worked for 3 years. Before Philips, Zhe was a Product Development Engineer with Ford Motor Company. Zhe has over 5 years of experience in Product Development, with a focus on requirements definition, risk identification/prioritization/mitigation, as well verification methodology development. In addition, Zhe had exposure in manufacturing across different industries as part of his bachelors’ degree requirement. Zhe has been a member of INCOSE since September 2017. He obtained his ASEP in December 2018.

Paul Kostek:

Paul is currently serving as Chapter Treasurer. He is principal with Air Direct Solutions. He works with companies in the application of systems engineering to define and solve problems. This includes defining user needs, system/subsystem requirements, system architecture, risk management, interface definition and verification planning. Paul has professional experience in the entire range of product development in the aerospace, avionics, defense, e-commerce and medical device industries. He is a past President of the Seattle Metro Chapter and INCOSE member since 1997.

John Palmer:

John serves as Director-at-Large. John is a Senior Technical Fellow, System Engineering at The Boeing Company. John has over 30 years of experience in the design, analysis, verification, and operation of complex integrated hardware and software systems. As a Senior Technical Fellow in Systems Engineering of The Boeing Company, John is sought for consulting and execution of critical engineering challenges across multiple business units. John's experience includes manned spacecraft, communication and remote sensing satellites, commercial aircraft flight controls and systems integration, and mobile satellite communication networks. He has worked at the level of detailed HW/SW integration in high integrity aviation electronics, through to the level of systems of systems required for globally mobile mission critical communication services. In addition to solving development problems, John's responsibilities aim at improving system engineering processes and tools, and planning for long range implications of nano- and other disruptive technology.

 Paul A van Tulder:

Paul serves as Director-at-Large. Paul is a Boeing Company Associate Technical Fellow who focuses on the safe modernization of the Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems and the Boeing Commercial Airplanes flight decks to satellite-based technologies. Paul has 30 years of experience in the design, analysis, flight testing and certification of complex avionics hardware/software systems. As a Boeing ATF, Paul helps business units and government customers (i.e., NASA and FAA) design, integrate and flight test avionics embedding next generation ATM concepts as well as help airlines introduce new revenue operations.  Paul’s experience includes US military manned and unmanned platforms for tele-operations, integration and validation of autonomous robots on the Boeing wing factory floor and using complex system-of-system simulations to digitally test new operations. In addition to enabling the business, Paul’s responsibilities seek to affordably implement new technologies through structured System Engineering (SE) methods and tools to drive autonomy technology into the field.

Alex Both:

Alex serves as Director-at-Large.  Alex is an engineering & program manager with GE Aviation. He has many years of System Engineering & Program Management experience in developing and integrating complex avionic systems. He systems engineering and program management journey includes various projects such as autoflight, GPS landing systems, Pilot Controls and In Flight Entertainment. Alex is enthusiastically involved with new product development based on market analyses, strategic planning, customer requirements and resource management and has been an INCOSE member since 2012
