Welcome to the Southern Maryland Chapter

Founded in February, 1998, the Southern Maryland Chapter follows the INCOSE International Mission, Vision and Goals. 

Additionally, we will:

  • Continue our outreach program to support systems engineering conferences and events at both the Regional and International levels of INCOSE
  • Continue to build partnerships with local professional associations offering unique and diverse systems engineering insights while complimenting their inherent interest areas

Martin Coe is a Systems Engineering expert in the medical device industry with 37+ years experience in the design and development of more than 145 products in the medical device, industrial automation, consumer electronics and telecommunication industries.  His roles have included Principal Systems Engineer, Technical Lead, R&D Manager and Technical Program Director.

Martin is a Certified Systems Engineering Professional (INCOSE CSEP) and his professional work spans design and development of numerous medical devices, optimization of product development processes and the advancement of Systems Engineering practices for commercial product development worldwide.  His work achievements include:

  • Several continuous improvement awards for product development process improvement of medical device design and development
  • Several published papers, technical presentations and books on Systems Engineering topics
  • Recognized by international regulatory agency for his product requirement quality

The Southern Maryland Chapter of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) began in February 1998.  The core group of organizers recognized the sizable Systems Engineering infrastructure  in the Patuxent River area created by the presence of the Naval Air Systems Command, the Naval Air Warfare Center (Aircraft Division and Field Activity at St. Indigos), the Naval Air Station, and a growing community of Industry partners.
