President - Robbie McAfoos
Director and Program Manager, Mission and Program Integration Contract (MAPI)

Bio
Robert McAfoos is the Barrios Director and Program Manager for the International Space Station (ISS) Program, Mission and Program Integration (MAPI) Contract.  He is responsible for managing the overall direction of the contract, including organization, staffing, budget, and both technical and financial contract performance.  McAfoos is responsible for managing subcontractors performing MAPI work, establishing project goals related to the contract, and interfacing with the customer regarding contract status.


McAfoos has served as a Program Manager for Barrios' largest contracts since 2001.  He has managed programs and contracts in the Mission Operations Directorate (Space Program Operations Contract), ISS Program Office (Mission Integration Contract), and the Crew Exploration Vehicle (Orion Project Integration Contract) with employees working technical disciplines of engineering, operations, flight control, training, configuration management, data management, and program planning and control.  
 
His most recent position prior to assuming the MAPI Program Manager role was the leader of a Barrios initiative which successfully established a business base in the Houston area oil and gas market.
 
McAfoos began his career at Honeywell where he designed, developed, and tested algorithms for the Entry Flight Control System of the Space Shuttle.  While at Honeywell he led teams developing avionics systems at the Systems and Research Center, marketing and contracts in a motor factory, and establishing the Houston Engineering Center. 
 
McAfoos has a Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering, from University of Tennessee and a Master of Science, Electrical Engineering, from the University of Minnesota.  He holds Project Management Professional and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certifications.

Vice President/President Elect - Tim Brady

Mr. Brady has over 30 years of experience at NASA.  He has worked in the NASA Engineering and Safety Center’s (NESC) Systems Engineering Office at JSC since December 2007.  In this assignment, he provides NESC support to the International Space Station and Orion Multi-Purpose Crewed Vehicle Programs.  He also participates in NASA initiatives to advance systems engineering capability within the agency.  

Prior to this assignment, Mr. Brady worked in the NASA Headquarters Office of the Chief Engineer.  During this year-long assignment, his primary focus was supporting improvement of Systems Engineering development at NASA.  Mr. Brady has also worked in the Space Shuttle Orbiter Project Office as the Project Manager responsible for developing flight hardware to perform on-orbit tile repair on the Space Shuttle.   Mr. Brady has extensive experience related to the development of extravehicular activity (EVA) flight equipment. 

Mr. Brady earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame and Master of Science degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of Kentucky.

Past President - Tony Williams (ESEP)

Tony Williams is the Chief Engineer, Systems Engineering and Integration, at Jacobs Engineering developing flight systems for the International Space Station (ISS).  He’s also serves as the Project Manager for the ISS Simplified Aid for EVA Rescue (SAFER), a complex safety-critical jetpack that provides final self-rescue opportunity for a stranded astronaut who has drifted from the ISS. Prior assignments include serving as a Lecturer at the University of Houston where he taught a Master’s level Systems Engineering series, and as a Senior Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton where his roles ranged froim launch mission assurance studies to development of exploitation tools for multi- and hyper-spectral imagery to modeling of satellite constellation replacement needs.  He has served as Colonel in the Air Force Reserve (1988-2008) including active duty tour as Chief, Space Command and Control Division and Commander, Space Operations Squadron at Air Force Space Command in 2005.  Tony is a Certified INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional and a PMI Certified Project Management Professional.  Within INCOSE, Tony previously served on the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter Board from 2010-2012.  

Treasurer - Jeff Hahn

Bio
Jeff received Bachelor of Science degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri - Rolla. During his time with Jacobs Engineering at the Johnson Space Center (JSC), he has served in various project engineering, systems engineering, and project management roles on small and large development and flight projects ranging from a $20k to $20M/year. Those project have included the International Space Station Crew Health Care System, Max Launch Abort System, Capsule Parachute Assembly System, and Emergency Mask System. Jeff also served as the project manager for commercialization and outreach efforts and worked to create partnerships between the Engineering Directorate, commercial companies, and Jacobs. Prior to coming to JSC, he served as a test engineer in the Unitary Tunnel and Mach 4 Blow-down Facilities in the Hypersonic Air-breathing Propulsion Branch at Langley Research Center.

Jeff currently serves as the section manager for the Crew and EVA Projects in the project development group

Bio

Bob_GatesI have been with Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH) for23 years working in the Manned Space Flight industry specifically on the International Space Station.  My background is Systems Engineering and I’m an INCOSE Expert Systems Engineer Professional (ESEP).  I have degrees in Laser and Electro Optics, Electronic Systems, Electronic Communications and Behavior Psychology.  Previous to BAH I worked with Nuclear Event testing, Satellite Control and Space Shuttle Payload integration.   I'm currently the BAH Program Manager on the International Space Station (ISS) Mission and Program Integration (MAPI) contract. For the past 6 years I have been helping to develop Systems Engineering capability and staff within BAH.

Bio
KOrrKevin Orr has an 19 + year career in the Systems Engineering domain specializing in requirements, verification, and performance parameters. Have worked for Barrios over the last 6 months supporting International Space Station project doing various System Engineering and Requirements Management tasks. Prior to that spent a couple of years providing System Engineering (SE) leadership with GE Oil & Gas for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Subsea projects and SE functional improvements. SE time with GE has included managing interfaces, performing Extended Factory Acceptance Testing (EFAT) for Subsea Manifolds, SE manager for field extensions, authoring System Engineering Management Plan, and testing product lifecycle management tools.. Previous 16 years were with Boeing providing System Engineering leadership for various space and military projects focused on system level functional architecture/analysis , Project Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) requirements (system, subsystem, and interface) , traceability, and verification products. Currently hold active certificates as Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) and Project Management Professional (PMP). Always interesting in sharing the SE industry with others and actively participate in local professional chapters including membership in Texas Gulf Coast Chapter (TGCC) and Clear Lake Galveston Chapter of Project Management Institute (PMI-CLG).

Programs Director Oil & Gas - Jason Baker

Jason Baker is a senior systems engineer at Transocean Offshore International in Houston, Texas. He is responsible for leading a team of systems engineers deploying MBSE for the development of safety critical systems. He received a B.S. in Human Factors from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a M.E. in Systems Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He has received various professional certifications including, INCOSE CSEP and TUV Rheinland Functional Safety Engineer. Previously he worked for Barrios Technology, contracted to BP, performing requirements development, analysis, integration and verification for various oil and gas systems. Prior to BP, he worked in NASA Mission Operations Division performing real time mission support for the International Space Station operations

Communications Director - Abe Hudson

AbeAbe Hudson is systems engineer at Barrios Technology working for the International Space Station (ISS) Program, Mission and Program Integration (MAPI) Contract. He has helped manage the operational ground rules, requirements, and constraints for the Space Station. Abe also worked on a Barrios contract for Transocean where he was a systems engineer on safety critical project.

 Prior to working for Barrios Technology, Abe was a requirements analysist for 11 years at United Space Alliance where he worked in the Space Shuttle Flight Software group. There, he worked with NASA Astronauts and the Astronaut Training Office to develop new flight displays for the Shuttle. Abe also performed Shuttle flight software verification and validation using a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 5 process. 

Abe earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma in Aerospace Engineering.

Web Master - Robert Crain (CSEP)

Bio

Robert CrainMr. Crain is an INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), a United States Navy Submariner veteran qualified in SSN and SSBN submarines and has over 30 years of Systems Engineering experience with 27 of those years working four major NASA programs (SpaceLab, The International Space Station (ISS), Constellation, and currently Exploration). During his tenure he has performed various functions including Systems Engineering, Project Management, Command and Data Handling (C&DH) Engineering, Integration Engineering, Requirements Management, Enterprise Architect, and Model Based Systems Engineering development. He was nominated for the Rotary National Award for Space Achievement (RNASA) Stellar Award for MBSE methodology development.  Mr. Crain was awarded a NASA Silver Snoopy Award for his efforts related to the development of the ISS Flight Emulator, which was used to test ISS Elements on the Ground prior to Flight. Additionally, he has instructed courses in AC/DC and Digital Electronic Theory.  He is currently a Staff Engineer for MEI Technologies, Inc.
