"The Pre-Deployment Strategy for Exploration (How we’ll use the Martians to make Martian Exploration Possible)"

Prior to Mars exploration, NASA will pre-deploy large and complex assets at the Martian landing site.  These  assets will be fully functional habitats, power stations, communication units and rovers.  This pre-deployment will be enabled by robots, who will set up and maintain them until humans arrive to explore.
