Welcome to the PDP & Mentoring page!

Mentoring is a major part of an individual’s professional development learning plan.  As seen in the screenshot above, the Professional Development Portal (PDP) supports mentoring through training & coaching (learning resources) and direction & goals (learning development plans).  This page will keep you posted on the INCOSE Mentoring Activities and how the PDP can support mentoring and how mentoring can support your professional development.

INCOSE Mentor Matching Pilot

INCOSE recognizes that a mentor can provide real help in understanding and applying systems engineering principles and concepts. INCOSE has started a six-month long pilot mentoring program.  If you are interested in becoming a mentor and are an INCOSE member, log into the INCOSE web at www.incose.org and then click on this link INCOSE Mentor Matching Pilot page.

INCOSE is pleased to offer you this mentor matching service.  Below are a few clarifications about what this service offers, links to more information, and the link to enter your own profile to request a mentor.

A mentor will answer your email questions, usually as often as once every 1 – 2 weeks. The mentor has committed to spend at least 1 to 4 hours per month answering your email, so your ability to ask good questions is critical to getting good mentoring through this service. (Note: If you and your mentor agree, you may use other means to make contact, such as phone calls, online meetings, or even meeting in person, especially at INCOSE events.)

Don’t expect a mentor to teach you a subject, or find you a job (some mentoring programs may offer those services, but not this INCOSE mentoring service).

Click this link to enter your profile and request a mentor:  https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/16b34d0083954ac98399264fcfe9bd03

Using the results of the pilot program, the mentoring team will develop a full INCOSE Mentoring Program.  Stay tuned for more details.
